Retired book shop owner who still seems to have all the books
Keen to read but a little terrified as signed first that needs to keep in good condition. Despite having been in book trade for so many years anything I get my hands on shows a clear history of several days meals etc #firsteditions #mickherron

Been a bit quiet on here as recovering from minor operation but back to normal almost. Hard to be a book enthusiast when not allowed to pick up more than one at a time & no big ones

Needing some light reading while recovering from recent operation I thought would give this a go. Struggling to get past first chapter but to be fair to Simon Mason might be the pain rather than the book #Books #SimonMason

COVID was in full flow when my lease ended & failed to clear the general book stock .. haunts every inch of storage I have. So hard to dump books ! Yes they are saleable but estimated having to live to about a 1000 to achieve clearance #OldBooks #Books #Bookshops

Big Ithell Colquhoun exhibition due soon at Tate St Ives. I bought a number of her paintings 30 years ago for next to nothing & sold them cheaply. Pleased I hung onto this one #StIves #Tate #Cornwall #Art #IthellColquhoun

Researching family who started out as travellers in woods of Penn Buckinghamshire turning chair legs & went on to own biggest chair makers in country. 7 brothers & think probably I am descended from brother who was left behind working out how to put wood on the lathe ? #Chairmaking #Buckinghamshire
