~1500$ in vet bills later, Kopi is playing with her ball for the first time in three days. Hoping these additional antibiotics do the trick.

We're going to go with an additional antibiotic to help get the infection under control and when/if it (hopefully) clears up a bit they can do a better job of draining the fluid from her shoulder. It's just too infected to touch right now. They're also going to send tests for a more in depth review.
They would also send her bloodwork/cultures/xrays for further review, which could take a few days.
I'm not doing well. She's sleeping on her bed next to me. Have to call the vet back soon to discuss.
Sigh.

We're going to go with an additional antibiotic to help get the infection under control and when/if it (hopefully) clears up a bit they can do a better job of draining the fluid from her shoulder. It's just too infected to touch right now. They're also going to send tests for a more in depth review.
Back from the vet. They recommended Kopi be admitted to an animal hospital, but the one here is really busy and not sure they can help how she needs. The other options are 45-60 minutes away. Another route they can go is just give another antibiotic in the hopes it clears up the infection. 1/2

Some possibly good news. I reached out to the hot tub place about selling our hot tub and they...didn't say no. Just said they'll get back to us about it. A few bucks for that would be great and we can put it towards the deck in the spring.

She was supposed to get a cyst removed Wednesday but it had other plans and popped early and got infected. Then there's her diarrhea problem, which she's having some abdominal discomfort. sigh
I had to take Kopi to the emergency vet. I couldn't wait until the morning and deal with the anxiety tonight. I need sleep. So does she.

Kopi's shoulder is definitely swollen up a bit. I've noticed she's not nearly as mobile the past few hours. Vet appointment (another one) tomorrow at 11:30. Glad my friend is WFH. They want to get that cleared up before her dental cleaning on Wednesday.

For some context. We got a larger basin for the laundry room specifically to give the dogs a bath in so it would be easier on my back. Well. That was in June of 2024. I just now built up the spoons to do it. She had this crusted goop in her eye that was looking like a needle about to poke her eye.
OK so two big things here.
1) I started writing for D&D
2) I immediately got distracted and gave Kopi an actual bath in the laundry basin. Which quickly reminded me it needs to be fastened to the wall still. Oops.

Trying to decide what to do with the rest of the day. I finished writing a 30-page email to my friend. Yes. 30 pages. I can't write D&D for shit, but I can sit down and write ~7k words to someone without issue. It helping me get the urge to write, however.
