This workshop is designed for beginners or folks that have done a few publications but want to think through their practice with others. It's the first step in toward a long-running dream of an advanced professional practices curriculum for artist-publishers.

There will be spreadsheets, lists, diagrams, and much discussion. Participants will work through a complete plan for a publication, fictional or real, and build customized digital tools along the way.

As the title implies it will be a close, nitty-gritty look at all aspects of collaborative publishing as a creative practice: ethics, responsibilities, risks but most of all possibilities.

The grants are unrestricted and there are no reporting requirements. There is no application process. NLP subscribers nominate projects and then vote on which will be the final recipient. More info: www.newlightspress.com/nlp-public-g...

The NLP Public Goods Grants are an experiment in community-based income redistribution, resource sharing, and care. For every 50 subscribers, NewLights gives $500 per year to an artists’ books/print/publication project that is helping to grow and care for the ecosystem and community.
