Yesterday, we welcomed a moving service for #VEDay80, honouring the city’s connections with Denmark. During WWII, Newcastle became the 'official home town' for Danish merchant sailors. Tragically, 2,000 of the 6,000 sailors did not survive the war. newcastlecathedral.org.uk/the-danish-connection/
