There's not much I want to say. It's not overly long, but doesn't feel super short either. Music is really nice and relaxing. There's some fantastical elements and arguably questions left unanswered, but it's not super plot heavy.

I think it's worth checking out 🙂

Toem cleared for the first time on January 21, 2026

Uncanny. I got Fantasy Life for 3DS when it came out, put some hours into before playing something else. I literally started playing it again last week 🤭

Just in case, this is what the game shows me when I check story progress. If anyone ever sees this, can't you tell me what I missed???

And I'm still missing some endings, even after following a walkthrough. I'm short one trophy that afaik, should've unlocked with just my first playthrough, so I dunno... I don't really love the game enough to play it a 3rd time tbh, lol

Quick update, chapter select is available after clearing the game once, so using that I did find out one revelation, but I wasn't really blown away by it. Just being aware of certain tropes already clued me in on certain characters, so I wasn't shocked 🤷🏽‍♀️

Music was really nice and atmospheric jazz style tunes. Graphic wise, I wasn't expecting high end animation, but it is mostly static imagery. Slightly quirky is the 360 scope of looking around. The image does distort when you pull the camera back, so it's pretty noticeable.

That said, I really enjoyed the characters! Some were really over the top, and some felt like I could meet them in the real world.

Character relationships I did find a bit more lacking, but again, I'm hoping playing more

Admittedly, I think the player is expected to play this game through at least twice, so I'm probably gonna try to get through it again and see what I missed

I figured I wouldn't be lost plot wise. And truthfully, I didn't feel I was missing references to anything, and the mystery of the game was interesting, but I found the pacing jarring. Dialog was too abrupt at times too.

Games. So I don't hate it for that reason, and if that made it cheaper to produce and therefore cheaper to sell, I'm not complaining.

But after clearing it once, I'm not interested enough to complete it 100%. Maybe in the future, but I'll let the ending linger as is...
