tanz der vampir. it also sucks but it is VERY funny as vampire musicals go. only good song in it. (the only good vampire musical is the dracula musical in Forgetting Sarah Marshall this is a fact)

I've a hunch - I reckon it's a take on rag week. Looks like UCL and Kings used to have theirs in November and tear up the whole city trying to outdo one another, so that'd be the right date and danger... why the rats though...

Some context on this: Hymen is the god of marriage in Greek myth (the two being named the same is coincidental). In my 19thC research I've seen it used all the time in the context of "marriage" & never regarding the tissue. KILLER title for an article even so. Why won't our boys marry! Sigh!

have you read about the bat out of hell musical. it was easily the worst musical I have ever seen, saved only by the pyrotechnics, the hot dad, and of course the music being bat out of hell

On the other hand though, I've since come back to Perth for a few weeks at a time the last few years (moved 6 yrs ago now), and I'm shocked at how people STARE. All I'm doing is wearing a patterned collared shirt and people were STARING at me, like 1/10 in public. I never noticed when I lived there.

Last remark actually - Melb is hard sometimes, cuz people are very cliquey here. Perth was better with weirdoes in that we all just got by and stuck together. Here the weirdoes have cliques, and you're even more on your own if you don't conform, esp. appearance-wise.

From my drivethroughs and the people I know from there, yeah, I feel that. Feels like the people who are there are there because they WANT to be quiet please. Many Perthites are the same.

That is the end of my observations, but yeah. Def not as varied as like, New York vs New Orleans, but you know, about as varied as Hamburg vs Munich, I guess.

Canberra is actually so horrible but only because like, it's just construction, strip clubs, and sad government workers, some of whom are couch surfing because it's so hard to find a place to live. I assume there are pollies & that's who the clubs are for. I hope they do better than gvt staff.
