Depends on what you use illustrator for. Lots of great improvements (brushes, shape builder, textures, etc.) For what I do Figma is more than capable (especially with plugins)!

Thanks! Yeah it's super simple but comes in handy when you need it.

I use Claude as well. v0 seems to do a better job at building UI's since it has access to shadcn components.

Windsurf is also great. Been starting to see how it compares against cursor with specific tasks.

I really don't think there's a right or wrong way here!

I typically start with @v0.dev as it's great for the UI/frontend side of things and then I eventually move into cursor if I'm going to create an actual project out of it.

I've heard good things about bolt and lovable as well.

You should start! It's fun, especially as a way to learn. You can generate an idea and then start asking the tools how it all works.

Yeah I really miss it but Ally has been great!

Not a brick and mortar, but we've been happily using Ally ever since Simple shut down.

Thanks this is a great way to think about it!

is 1600 you're large and 1440 standard? is that what you mean by large? or do you start with 1600 as default?
January 22, 2025 at 7:46 PM
Oh yeah for sure! I'm just wondering though for quick mockups what's your go-to default
