Totally different imo. We're all now fully clear how Madrid are going to operate and we can't have that happen for a second year in a row. If they can get £40m+ this summer then take it. I'd hate to lose him as he's quality player but to lose him on a free would be criminal.

I totally understand him leaving but to snake the club out of a fee and do Real's bidding is what's soured his Liverpool legacy. Can't have Konate doing the same.

Again he might sign but he can't be allowed to do a Trent. World Cup year gives us a massive bargaining chip to force his hand. If he doesn't sign, get 2 Centre Backs in sharpish this summer and make it clear he'll be 4th choice at best
