Drink and be merry for tomorrow we die! Yakurodokusen appreciates those words, but he wishes that the Monk had not taken them so literally. A poison cannot cure what lies underneath, what Miroku ignores, but at least his love can change Sango’s poison into the remedy.

If Tsukuyomaru had never met her, he could have guarded the barrier like his father and his grandfather. If he had not fallen in love, he would still be amongst his kin. But then he would not have Shiori, and he would not have known love. And THOSE were worth his life.

Is it in a flea’s nature to flee? Myōga certainly thinks so, but he promised a father he would watch over a son, to bring wisdom and guidance as needed. Plus, Inuyasha’s blood is some of the most delicious out there: a just reward for constantly fearing for your life!

Rōyakan was peaceful and he was strong. Yet even he fell to the temptation of the Shikon no Tama, buying the poisoned words of the spider. If the very people he attacked so mercilessly had not shown him mercy, Rōyakan would be dead. He vowed never to forget that mercy.

A heart is a terrible thing to waste. Naraku excised his and gave it form. The Infant was never born so much as made, to hold the malice and desires of that wretched human Onigumo. But a heart with a will is a dangerous thing, and Naraku’s mistake was almost his last.

Mukotsu loves watching the look on his victim’s faces when they realize they are helpless against someone like HIM, poisoned. He has killed demons and humans alike. It won’t be different with this delicious girl. He is the poison ma—Sesshōmaru has no time for cowards.

Tale as old as time. A Tanuki with a conman, right? Hachi was well compensated for his services to Miroku, so that was all it was, a business arrangement. Always being there to rescue Miroku and friends and worrying endlessly about them? That’s just what partners do.

There is no Me. I am an amalgamation of demons sewn together, a Frankenstein. I am living evolution, becoming stronger, faster, better. And I am hungry. So very hungry. I, Mōryōmaru, will absorb them all, become impenetrable, omnipotent! All to be my master’s soldier.

It is truly fitting that even Kikyō’s death is not her own. Her life was determined the moment her reiki flared. She died from the single wish she made: to live ordinary with Inuyasha. At least now, finally, Kikyō’s death can be her own. Kagome’s promise sets her free.

So what if his brother was attractive and had a beautiful head of hair and could get any demoness to come home with him? They had brotherly LOVE dammit! And Manten knew, if he could just find the perfect elixir, then HE would have the hair and the demon strollops too!

Loving a human always ended in violence and tragedy. No matter how powerful, how beloved, how rational, the moment a demon fell in love with a human was the day their life was forfeit. Hoshiyomi was no different, the strongest who loved the strongest fell all the same.

Goryōmaru knows that trauma breeds memory loss. And perhaps that’s why he can only barely recall the battle that saw his arm replaced with this parasitic demon. But something about this feels off, something inside of him screams at him to remember, but he just can’t.

Every time that Hōjō came to call, Kagome was sick! Hōjō really felt for poor Kagome, so he took it upon himself to care for her. His family had a long proud heritage of healing, after all. And maybe if she saw how great a caregiver he was, she’d even accept a date!

Sango lived to be punished. She lived to pay penance for her brother, for being a fool, for letting Naraku destroy her family. But Kagome welcomed her, Inuyasha accepted her, Miroku loved her, and Kohaku survived. Then Naraku was defeated, and Sango got to truly LIVE.

Byakuya was born to die. At least that was always how he viewed his short life. A replacement, an illusion, a necessity to his creator. Sometimes he wondered if he should lament his short and tethered life, but Byakuya didn’t. Naraku made what life he had interesting.

His brutality and size meant he was mistaken for an ogre, and in truth, Kyōkotsu was more demon than man. He relished in the destruction he caused, and killing was second nature. Too bad his intellect did not match his size. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Tsukiyomi second-guessed her decision the moment she saw the hurt on his face. But he had surrendered to the sword’s power. He would forgive her for the seal. But Tsukiyomi had grown used to Hoshiyomi holding her up when she went too far. A mistake she could not undo.

The Inu no Taisho: greatest of demons. Tōga heard his name whispered in all the lands he traveled. He was called a god, and he started to believe it. Until he met the most unlikely defiance: from a princess with soft brown eyes. The only one who cast him down to Earth.

When he was born, he was cleaved in two, severed from his soul. But that did not bother Hakudoshi. He would storm the gates of Hell himself and kill his maker. That was always the plan, from the moment of his birth, made with the soul he has been separated from agrees.

Only true idiots let their creations consume them. Working with blood and murder and hate to make weapons? Well, Kaijinbō definitely had it coming. Tokijin was a sword only the most powerful could control, and Kaijinbō learned the hard way that he was no Sesshōmaru.

Demons and humans were enemies: predator and prey. That’s the way it has always been. Kōga followed in the path of his ancestors, until he met HER. Kagome stood up to him, she protected her ally AND she helped him defeat his mortal enemies. Who wouldn’t fall in love?

His roots run deep and he has lived through many ages. He sees the rise and the fall of empires, of great demons and humans. But it was not until the Inu no Taisho that Bokusenō sees something more: an era where hanyō thrive from the love of humans and demons together.

Shizu did not mean to fall in love with him, nor he with her. They were enemies. But Tsukuyomaru did not look at her the way the others did. And maybe that was all it took, and when Shiori was born, she understood. Even knowing the fallout to come, Shizu felt blessed.

It’s hard to explain why she said yes. Why when her daughter disappeared down a strange well and returned with a half-demon in tow, Mama Higurashi simply squished his ears and let them go. Kagome always was special. And Mama had faith that she would chart her own path.
