The most basic scan is currently just pressing space to register a planet, star or spacecraft, but there will be more to come. They're intended to be similar to experiments/reports in KSP (pictured) 🚀

You can also combine entirely different child discovery types. A planned extension for Planet looks as follows:

Planet:
- Traits (implemented)
- Formations (mountain ranges/peaks, impact craters, volcanoes...)
- Planetary Events (storms, hurricanes, earthquakes) ???
- Civilizations/Factions ???

Technically speaking, this Discovery wrapper works with Planet - Planet Traits, but is designed to work with ANYTHING, e.g.

- spacecraft - spacecraft modules
- species - genetic features

I can hook availability of tech to certain discoveries, bearing similarity to Subnautica's blueprints 🤿

Discoveries are added by scanning & performing experiments, extending your database as you play. You do not see what you actually registered.

Imagine being the first astronomer in space, trying to map the galaxy. This is what AstraX is meant to be!

For single player games, a save system that allows saves at all times and autosaves on exit.
