Been playing Star Wars Doom lately. My big takeaway is that the empire was destined to fail because they hired the stupidest architects. We didn’t need Rogue One to retcon the Death Star’s weakness, trying to navigate any imperial facility in this game puts that in proper context.

I’m really digging this current arc of Ultimate Black Panther. Finally getting some exploration of the supernatural aspect of Vibranium they’ve been building up while also seeing T’Challa engage in some proper superheroics has been a lot more engaging than the first arc.

Green Lantern Dark is a revival/sequel to DC’s Tangent universe with a post-apocalyptic horror story about the last surviving hero trying her best not to get involved in the plot and failing miserably as she keeps saving people. Even if you don’t know anything about Tangent it’s pretty dang good.

One World Under Doom is a genre savvy story about heroes trying to outsmart a genre savvy villain and, in tandem with the current Fantastic Four run, it’s pretty fun. The cast is a little bloated in this issue and the reveal of how Doom took over the world is kinda contrived but overall it’s good.

Assorted Crisis Events’ second issue is quite a bit more overstimulating and honestly gruesome than it’s first issue but it still delivers a good story about someone’s life flashing before their eyes before a time displaced raptor gets them.

Absolute Martian Manhunter is continuing to be a really surprising favorite of mine. The banter between John Jones and this alien living in his head is delightful as it is ominous.

I’m a big fan of Bryan Lee O’Malley, his works do a good job capturing the awkward & contradictory aspects of growing up. His collab with Leslie Hung, Snotgirl, can be a bit of an agonizing slow burn but it feels very authentic portraying the anxieties of leading a double life as an influencer.

I’ve been a fan of Sonic comics as long as I can remember and the IDW series is no exception. Some arcs can be hit or miss but the stories that do hit are well worth it, the new additions to the cast are all well-developed and memorable & the art does good capturing the dynamic action of the games.
