This is an ongoing, community-driven effort:
- Evaluation annotations are open on GitHub
- Pipelines are transparent
- Feedback from users helps refine schemas
We welcome contributions for new features to extract, and annotations to evaluate!

Unlike other general-purpose AI review tools, however, we focus specifically on neuroimaging.
We uses expert-designed, validated schemas for neuroimaging — ensuring extracted study details are accurate enough to trust in a meta-analysis.

Instead of digging through PDFs, you’ll see a concise table + detailed study pages with AI-extracted info like:
- Participant counts, age ranges, diagnoses
- Imaging modalities
- Task names, conditions, and design details
This makes PRISMA-compliant screening faster, easier, and transparent.

Next, we go through the user facing workflow in the Neurosynth Compose web application.
(1) Search for studies using NeuroStore (2) Curation: Review for inclusion (3) Extraction: Coordinates are added/edited (4) Specification: Meta-analysis creation 5) Estimation: Unique bundle is executed

First, we cover the modular ecosystem architecture supporting Neurosynth Compose, marking a significant improvement over the legacy Neurosynth monolith.
This ensures long-term sustainability, and ensures a separation of concerns between the frontend, backend, and statistical modeling.

In principle, definitely! We probably need to develop these features to encourage it more, but in you can in theory clone someone else's dataset to update their meta-analysis.
