One of gambit's best writer imo. I like how he was the only writer who called out how poorly gambit was written in Krakoa too.

Tbh it wasn't the whole office. Nicieza who worked on AoA has openly called this version of magneto a cradle robber, a term I didn't even know what it meant till he used it lol.

I mean the writer for the savage land mini even said he had a big crush on rogue growing up lol. It's always been a thing, it's why they always punish gambit for simply existing.

Because he's primarily only talking about stuff not in season 2. He talks about AoA or future seasons because he legally can as they are not in the show. He only brought up onslaught when the season dropped it's 10th episode and his ending was scrapped. It's also why he can't talk about deathbit.

I wouldn't really worry about what he's saying, he's just making stuff up at this point lol. He even said that in season 4 Gambit would ask mystique for permission to marry rogue.... He's so out of touch when it comes to these characters and is just saying random shit to get attention.

It's a great series! It did the whole rogue/gambit angst pretty well and I liked how it modernized gambit.

The writer for gambit (2012) said black cat was supposed to be in it but marvel said no and so he created Joelle. I do think they work better as friends like that pride issue but that solo would've probably made them a couple lol.

She was still lying to him though, maybe not about the past but he never got to ask about the past because she lied to him about who she was talking about in that scene. It just wasn't handled well imo, was way too one-sided to make gambit as sympathetic as possible. Agreed on that 2nd part.

Maybe i'm misremembering but theres a scene in EP.5 where rogue is praising mag and gambit asks her if she's talking about the professor. Like she's lying straight to his face here lol. He does forgive her for it later on the episode so it clearly wasn't a big deal for him.

I think it's because the fired showrunner himself stated she would have earn his forgiveness and had plans for it. Now gambit seemed to already forgave her for lying to him so I have no idea what he was talking about lol.

I think it started off great but has slowly fallen off. I hope it can bounce back but with 10 characters I just don't see how you could balance this book. It introduces so many issues but doesn't resolve them. Like rogue having diction lessons is a throwaway comment and is never addressed again lol.

I also hate that every time people think rogue is being mischaracterized they bring up legacy. The book where the writer straight up ignores actual events to play into the most stereotypical male fantasy romance. It took like 10 yrs and 3 different writers to get gambit back on track because of that

I think what she was trying to say is that cyclops is a hypocrite because hes fine with magneto who has reformed on his team but won't offer the same chance to Xavier. This could've been conveyed a lot better imo and I hate the discourse that one line has created.

I'm guessing this is about that tweet with Kelly's statement, which ended up as a Reddit thread too lol. I don't even think it's accurate, marvel just wanted to leave it open ended to restore them to the 90s era and continue on with the whole will/won't they type of relationship imo.

Yeah I agree with a lot of this, feels like gambit has been directionless for a very long time now. I think his relationship with rogue works well to combat that and gives him something to fight for. Hope hes able to develop a bit more instead of just being the ultimate wife guy though.

I think he was just playing dumb. I don't get how he didn't expect backlash from rogue fans, but then again he also didn't know her age until someone pointed it out him (which he ignored lol).
