We describe a circuit mechanism by which the PFC not only drives LC activity but also fine-tunes its own state by an endocannabinoid-mediated negative feedback that shapes the temporal dynamic of cortical noradrenaline.

In this study we provided evidence of a closed-loop reciprocal PFC-LC circuit, where LC neurons receiving PFC input also project back to the PFC.
