That's quite funny! Well, in my native country (the U.S.) my driver's test proctor was pretty lenient, so I passed on the first go. However after emigrating to Japan, I had to take the test here, with an old retired cop as my proctor, 4 attempts and I got it!

I'm of the opinion that empathy is learned through suffering. People detached from our everyday struggles can't even imagine getting sick and losing everything due to lapse in income because of not having their government-issued insurance or generational wealth

Personally I prefer either the K-pop thumb and index ♡ or steepling my index fingers and hooking my thumbs, which make a very nice ♤

I've learned the value in replacing print time with ¥100 shop bins and have also been learning Japanese carpentry at a workshop.
It turns out since FDM layers are similar to woodgrain in some ways the disciplines have some bleedover, so my more recent projects are an amalgamation of wood and prints

The neat thing is to augment stuff you get places like Seria or Daiso. Seria specifically has a crazy variety of stationary organizers, so adding a gridfinity system to those for all your pens, parts or tools saves time and filament.

I use LED cure fingernail polish for surfacing my smaller prints, it gives me a wide variety of color and effects like rainbow sparkles or magnetic flake

I feel like people just need to be willing to learn. I'm no engineer, nor am I skilled in the maths but I've been able to kludge my way through two printers and now I'm homebrewing a 3rd. I'm of average intelligence too. If I can do it, anyone can

I did this with a vacuum cleaner. The Japanese company that produced my model doesn't even exist anymore so replacement parts have to either be sourced and adapted, or modeled and printed

Conversely I got mine initially to make headlight and taillight brackets for my longboard. I've since printed a rack-and-pinion arbor press, for bearings, a heat press for sockets, battery cases for my ebike & sculptures I've made in Nomad 3D. My mistakes I turn into kitbashing like my mouse bungee

Yeah that's sus & troubling. Maybe some of my relatives, who have trans kids, might want to think about moving to another country. The takeover of the schools and purging of LGBTQIA books, plays and other racially and personhood inclusive materials is an attempt of control and forced homogenization
