Granddaughter is visiting and forgot her bunny so she asked for my daughter’s (her mother’s) old teddy bear. We retrieved him from a cupboard to discover that his eyes are worn, as if he has cataracts. The teddy is about 41 years old, so this is entirely feasible.

With all this recent talk of rare earths, maybe this product needs a rethink. More Amazonian White Clay and less focus on Rare Earth, perhaps.

Visited two very different exhibitions this weekend. Yesterday it was hotrods. Today it was orchids.

Mr B’s sand art for the grandkids today. Not sure who had the most fun.

Since I started wearing a Da Brim, magpies have not swooped me.

Today’s golf participants saw the following snakes: a diamond python, a red bellied black & a brown snake. Also a blue tongue lizard and the usual kangaroos & ducks. Magpies were swooping on the 1st & 9th holes. And then, driving into our home garage this fella greeted me:

Magpie swooping season has begun at one point along the cycle track so it’s time to fit the Da Brims on our bike helmets. A little tricky when riding down a hill at 25kph in a headwind, though.

Went to Woolgoolga this morning to see the exposed wreck of Buster which ran aground there in 1893. Have never seen so much of it out of the sand before. It was originally 39 metres long.

The resident magpie heard the clatter of dishes so flew down to look through the kitchen door in the hope that there might be food scraps.

On our walk this morning, looking out to sea for whales. Bad weather was rolling in from the south, although we didn’t know it at that stage. No whales were sighted.

@3wombats.bsky.social the Portuguese Tarts have been purchased and await sampling. Thank you for the recommendation.

Seriously, why would a piece of butternut pumpkin need three pieces of plastic food wrap? Surely one is sufficient. I’m looking at you, Coles.

May I recommend ‘Cranky Uncle vs Climate Change’ by Dr John Cook? It gave me the confidence to counter denialism from extended family members and others.

Today’s task will be to fix this fence panel that was kicked in from the back sometime last night. This is the third time it’s happened because people seem to have trouble walking 10 metres to the vacant block next door where they can walk through unimpeded. Morons.

This is my favourite sign from today’s #HandsOff protests. And to think that until a few days ago, penguins and tariffs would never have been a consideration for the sign’s creator.

There are so many clever signs from today’s #HandsOff protests but without ALT text, there are people who will be unable to appreciate the wit and work that has gone into creating the signs. It’s not hard to do and is a wonderfully inclusive habit to get into.

I took a photo of this Vanda orchid one week while outside a cafe. When I returned the following week, it was gone. Apparently someone had stolen it. Such a weak, selfish act.

I have dug out my KEVIN 07 t-shirt to remind me of a more optimistic time. We could certainly do with more of that feeling right now.

Hmm … I wonder what the answer could be?

After running a bath, I went to do something and when I came back, this little fellow was poised on the bath’s edge. So, I used the trusty $2 bug catcher to save him from a possible watery end.

We are standing on a sand bank, late in the afternoon, gazing out to the Tasman Sea.
