"I rhyme / To see myself, to set the darkness echoing."
- Seamus Heaney, in Personal Helicon

Let love, empathy, kindness guide everything we do. ...let's stop this divisive madness shredding our country apart. #StrongerTogether
we are all exhausted and tired... i'm staying away from bluesky for mental sanity! I do peruse news and know whats going on but we slid really fast into fascism. each day there is something new that reminds me of this! Lawmakers and even many judges have failed us.

The third James Bond novel was published this day in 1955. The plot: villain is a rocket-building technocrat who is actually a secret Nazi working for the Russians.

Take a bow, Ian Fleming, Nostradamus of our day!😜😂

Trump bragging about how market showed best ever returns under any president ever under him in 2016-20 is false too but his markets will boom in trump 2.0 talk yesterday rings hollow too.

"An aching eye seeing through pain,
a stewing pot of poison,
I was both.

Reaching for the antidote,
I touched compassion.
I touched mercy."

Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing,
There is a field.
I'll meet you there.
When the soul lies down in that grass,
The world is too full to talk about.
Ideas, language, even the phrase each other
Doesn't make any sense.
- Rumi

Was going to start Izumi Suzuki's novel, Set My Heart On Fire, that I had picked up at the library earlier in March but I'm so easily distracted & ended up reading about some other books (mentioned in aforementioned podcast) this evening. So it goes..

So, some art and poetry and music to fill our feeds for the rest of today. Let me start with this poem for now.

Musk/Trump plan to hurt 99%+ of us. As billionaires, they don't need Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. They need the Trump tax cuts for the mega-rich. It's a transfer of wealth, once again, from the rich to the poor.

Contribution to the US trade deficit, by country (2024)

So wonder why Trump is so obsessed with Canada. Just a fragile male ego slight left over from term1, angst over the alpha-ness of Trudeau that he cannot deal with? Remember the shake hand in term1. That's one theory. What else is going on?
