One of my favorite difficulty menus is from a great flying shoot-em-up arcade-y game called Jet Lancer. It had a few different options with multiple levels each, it made it so approachable for me!!!

I only managed to get one run in this time, but I could feel a difference!

Still had some rough edges that felt uncomfortable to me, but that one run was a MUCH better experience for me than all runs in the last playtest. (I actually reached the final boss of the first zone this time!)
