the hell happened?

this account is fairly inactive, and mostly only really known by people who know me extremely well (or some that only know me because of other artists tagging me in my commissions, for which i'm sorry, but you will probably want to unfollow), so i'm fairly comfortable expressing things here

i post this here, now, possibly as an overcorrection, to express how i feel that choosing programming as my personal creative hobby has destroyed my ability to be expressive about myself. various recent events and someone have pushed me to try and find some way to rectify this.

music is the logical next step, but i have little to no music theory knowledge, only thousands of songs of various genres i enjoy to use as reference, with no understanding of how they create the sounds that they do, and how different chord progressions evoke emotion.

i don't think i have the mind's eye or patience required for drawing. paradoxically, while i want something expressive, i also want something algorithmic in nature, where the path to improvement is clear, and projects can continue to be iterated on.

programming as i do it, both professionally and as a hobby, is not an emotionally expressive creative medium. it's difficult to turn infrastructure, systems, devops, etc... into something expressive, and creating a game is an exceptionally long process.
