For now, we endure
In our blankets and filth,
As we race to contain
All the body fluids spilth.

There are two among us
Who seem to be spared,
Defying all reason,
As school air they’ve shared.

Their zeal is quite youthful,
A weekend of glee,
If only their SQUEALS
Weren’t so PIERCING to me.

We briefly looked outward
For uplifting word,
But that news was brief
And better unheard.

We just want to sleep,
But alas, no such luck;
Wee babes who can’t breathe
Do not give a f***.

Without rest, we wither,
Aloof on the floor,
Our patience quite thin
And our idle throats sore.

We watch all our movies,
And play all our games,
As one with the couch
And departed from shame.
