really? i thought the whole point of the series was was to critique exactly that exploitation.... like the people doing the exploitation were the BBEG and the people being exploited were the protagonists

Oof these are great choices. Weirdly I've seen all these and I don't watch a ton of TV. Have you checked out the Dollhouse? (Joss whedon buffy era show) The Expanse has got the sinister slow burn elements of the others. Britannia is very much like Evil in that you're left wondering if magic is real

yeah that's the pattern, and it keeps getting worse. Its crazy looking back at LOST, Buffy, Xena, La Femme Nikita etc and today were they are so margin-obsessed that they never want to risk residuals. I was lowkey disappointed by the series, but its frustrating that they didn't get to finish.

I write scenes out of order usually after they come to me during a shower or toilet break, then assemble them into an outline and fill in the spaces. I also have elaborate spreadsheets for worldbuilding and other stuff
