if you tap z right as the joycons click in loading screen then it does! also works with the 3rd version if you have 4 controllers!

But yea just remove the .gz and it should work
.unitypackage is technically a .gz zip archive at heart
So I guess google is dumbly adding a extension.

They are unity packages.
Dunno why your pc is showing as archives.
Try just renaming the extension or re-downloading them.
