Specialist initiation. Once the specialist has made the relevant diagnosis and started the treatment, most GPs would be happy to continue it. No point going to a GP and asking to start the medication as will need to have seen the cardiologist first

Sadly NHS provision for long covid support is almost next to nothing. In our area it was limited to websites of information and a remote ‘assessment’ service. Specialty based referrals were helpful for patients, but their scope was and remains limited to disease specific domains
