Second harvest of vitex (aka chaste) berries, drying in the sun

The first crop met a terrible fate, so fingers crossed.

Spice racks in Valheim are just... so big!!..
Cute, but unexpected

I felt compelled to photograph this particular leaf -shrug- enjoy, I guess?

Bouncing between these 3 games is an extremely peaceful and enjoyable flavor of escapism.

Was trying to catch a good picture of this monarch when another swooped into view, diving at the feeding butterfly for territory-
I managed to catch this single unedited pic with my phone and bad reflexes, capturing both monarchs in the same shot and getting a decent look at the wings

Mortar and pestle days are the best days

It's been kinda fun trying to where's-waldo myself in the various footage posted online.. here's the best picture I've found so far. Several folks asked for permission tho, eventually one should surface with my actual face.

Promise the feed will now go back to arts, crafts, nature, and blender.

Approximately half of the chaste (aka vitex) berries of my first harvest, drying in the sun.
They've already been washed, dried for several days, now peeled and left to dry for a few more days.

I'm still cleaning the other half, it's wildly fussy but calming too.

This particular one caught me- then I realized it's because approximately 80% of my wardrobe I've sewn falls under these shades..
I live in these colors.

We also attempted growing Weld this year - this was the only one to sprout from the pack, finally doing well

Next year will either harvest for yellow dye, or let it go to seed and try again for larger crop

Saw this gorgeous Eastern Tiger Swallowtail #butterfly (had to look up what kind it was), next to a monarch on our chaste tree today

Forgot to post the picture of my second woad ball

Tiny ball on top is from last month's harvest, now properly dried and shrunken - the large ball on bottom is new

Now to clean these up and mush them into a ball.

Playing with a mortar and pestle is actually quite fun and satisfying

Having another woad harvest today

Feeling like a greek garden statue today

Meticulously placing each curve and bend, floating for hours through a forest of stems and petals to examine views known generally only to insects - getting fully lost in the process, days of peace and contemplation.

Favorite way to cope, it really is about the process and not the product

Progress on the Hydrangea - looking deceptively more complete from this angle than it really is.

Progress peek at today's screen..
Can y'all tell which plant it is yet?

Couple-day break after the moss project hit a big snag in the bake process.

Back at it now tho, working on something new

24 hours of fine tuning later..
Getting ready to bake this into a PBR, just getting ALL the uv stuff procedurally handled first

Starting on a procedural moss idea, but having a sudden urge to pause and make a field of dandelions...
