The biggest qualify of life so far for me has been getting Tailscale setup with one of my pi-hole instances to use it as an Exit node on my cell phone to effectively route all of my phone traffic through my home network for better privacy and client level blocking of ads/tracking cookies.

The only bits and pieces I knew were things I had picked up following tutorials getting small things running on my NAS server in the container manager for Docker and eventually Portainer but now I just use docker compose and virtualize all of my containers through a proxmox cluster. I’ve got 5 nodes

I thought I replied earlier so apologies if it came through twice but yeah, I installed Debian with Gnome on an old computer and tinkered around with it enough and I got the bug to get a mini pc nuc build, went proxmox bare and then wiped a drive on my main pc to run Bazzite, it’s been fun to learn.

Crazy how all these corpos push out these incredibly invasive changes and just hope no one notices. Switching to a self hosted domain and Proton was so worth in my experience and I would suggest it for anyone who is capable or able to. I still have a few accounts I need to migrate off Gmail though 😪

I’m excited to switch over after a revision or two then. I was thinking of picking up a Mac Studio anyways if I end up doing that I suppose it’ll be a good time to software upgrade the laptop as well.

I’ve been putting off upgrading, I’ve heard nothing but bad things about it, and my experience with the new iPhone OS has been less than stellar.

Gotta be something in the air today, I haven’t had back pain like this in years. Hope you found some relief.
