Headless bird thread for Halloween 🎃
Three signets all feeding with their heads out of view as their heads are under the water. They are mottled colour as they have started to grow their adult feathers. The river bank in the foreground is paved. The other river bank is only just in the photo and is a fringe of bushes overhanging the river.

The goats were enjoying the sun this morning. I’m not sure what breed of goat they are - some had impressive curved horns that appeared handy for scratching their backs.
In the foreground is a goat eating something off a branch this laying on the ground. The patch of ground is brown because it is covered in leaves that have fallen. The goat has a black head and neck. Its body is mainly white. It’s a bit shaggy haired and has two smallish horns. A bit further back is a second goat. It sits on the ground. It has two big horns that curve backwards over its back. Beyond this goat is a green field edged by trees. As it’s a sunny morning and where the goats are in relation to the direction of the sun, they are a bit backlit

A happy story for today. I helped reunite this lost cat with its people earlier today.

A lot of magpie noise earlier today. There were four or five magpies about. Not sure if they were chattering as a warning about a cat or squabbling amongst themselves.

Lots of buzzing sound coming from our myrtle bush at the moment. This is just one of the bees (a white tailed bee?). There are also plenty of honey bees and an occasional common carder (I think, I’m not great at identifying bees 🐝)
A myrtle bush with deep green leaves and white flowers. Some of the flowers are open and some have yet to open. There is one bee (possibly a white tailed bee) collecting nectar & pollen.

Some egrets, the slightly larger white blobs, in some trees that have white flowers. It’s not a good photo as the trees and egrets were too far away. The blue sky is the background to the trees

Saw an egret this morning.

The small white patch towards the centre is an egret, honestly! The egret kept some vegetation between itself and the footpath. The egret is standing in a pool of water in a water meadow. The meadow includes a patch of yellow flowers towards the right of the picture as well as in the foreground.

Post a warning.

A photo from a while ago … getting at eye level with a couple of pigeons as they flew up to a higher perch on the roof.
Two wood pigeons that are mid-flight from a garden to a roof, but the ground isn’t in shot. They are about level with the upper floor of the building, and at pigeon eye level to the camera. In the background is a tree (with a jackdaw perched on a branch), some evergreen bushes and houses. The bushes and house roofs are covered with frost.

Part of the ruins of Lee Hall, usually referred to as either Sopwell Nunnery or Sopwell Priory, as the nunnery was on this site before Lee Hall was built. Lee Hall was built around 1540.

Taken a while ago, in Heartswood forest.

Quite early one morning, taking a stroll along the River Alde near Orford. The view is across the river towards Orford Ness.
As the tide was out, the foreground is riverbed mud. In the river there are some small boats moored. Beyond the boats is a thin strip of land (Orford Ness). As it’s first thing in the morning it’s not full sunlight, just a touch of yellow on the left hand side of the photo as the sun rises just out of shot
