Halloween stuff appearing right after the 4th of July isn't just because some people decided to put fake skeletons on pool floats throughout August and make "spooky season" and pumpkin spice their entire personality for a few months (and I say this as someone who loves Halloween).

I love having pets, but this doesn't mean my relationship is to them, nor do I want to be seen as, a "parent" to them. This is so alienating yet it's everywhere, proving no matter what is said and done, being a parent is still seen as the ultimate goal and purpose of every adult. (2/2)
