Although, Blade Runner did not do well in the box office, thankfully the film developed a cult following and herald by critics and enthusiasts as a science fiction film classic. Nearly 40 years later continues to influence science fiction film making.

In conclusion, Blade Runner film in 1984 much like the original Matrix movie in 1999 dared to do something new, challenge audiences with dystopian future and with plots that are complex with deeper meanings and themes, not just provide movies with eye candy special effects with weak plots.
