They should ban AI image generators.
The chatbot can be very useful as an assistant (it can find information faster than googling it, spellcheck something you wrote or find errors in your code, analyze large amounts of data, etc), but "ai art" is the dumbest possible way to use this technology.

Miss America contestants are asked harder questions than this mf, and they only have 60 seconds to answer

Americans are allowed to criticize the government, they're even allowed to insult their leaders. They have a right to protest, form unions, run businesses, etc.

I hate the US as much as the next guy, but calling it "totalitarian" is just lazy and objectively wrong.

Totalitarianism is when the government controls every aspect of political and private life.
It's not just about staying in power, they also control everything you do. They use surveillance, indoctrination and heavy repression (Nazi Germany, USSR, etc).
China isn't totalitarian, but North Korea is.

The US is definitely not totalitarian, it's not even authoritarian.
Authoritarianism means that the political life is controlled by the leader (or a small group of people), in order to stay in power (Russia, China etc). Basically, you can't oppose the government but you still have other freedoms.

Oh it doesn't have to be a whole day - a 5min blackout would be enough to freak us out

I can't stress that point enough : fascists have a worldview that is fundamentally anti-scientific.

Not because they are selectively rejecting evidence, but because the concept of evidence is irrelevant to their beliefs.

This distinction is crucial, and I feel like too many people are missing it.

It's not that "they only believe in science when it suits their narrative", it's that they genuinely don't care whether or not their beliefs are backed by science or not.
They just use it as an argument because they know that YOU care.
January 13, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Don't get me wrong : if they found any scientific evidence that confirmed their narrative, they would absolutely take advantage of it. But it doesn't mean that they actually value science in any way.

One of the core tenants of fascism is a rejection of empiricism. Their ideology is based on myths, and they will always reject any data that contradicts these myths.
There's no point in providing fascists with empirical evidence, they litterally don't believe in the scientific method.

France also has very few religious people (around 2/3 don't believe in any religion, and only 10-20% visit a place of worship regularly).
Secularism became a core value during the Revolution : the Catholic Church was clearly complicit in the oppression of the Third Estate, and people knew about it.
