Here's a trillion dollars. That's $1,000,000,000,000, how much money Musk will soon make.

The green slice is the amount that Republicans just voted for him to have via tax cuts in the "Big Beautiful Bill." The money that will need to come from our now invisible stacks one way or another.

Here's our guy standing next to $500 billion, the net worth of the world's richest man, Elon Musk. That's a football field packed solid, about 42" high. This amount of money could physically fit into 10 Boeing C-17s, but its weight would require that 70 of them transport it.

Cool. What about a billion? This is where we start to really lose our sense of scale. As a reminder, a billion is 1,000 millions.

Even though this would fit into the beds of 2 Ford F-150s, the total weight (over 22,000 pounds) would mean you'd need at least 10 truckloads to carry it.

Next up: the median lifetime earnings of an American as of 2025. This is around $1.85 million. It weighs about 40 pounds, and would fit into a backpack with plenty of room left over.

We've gotten so used to hearing a million thrown around, but it's still a LOT! Here's a million dollars' worth of $100s, standing at around 3 and a half feet tall.

What does a trillion dollars look like?

We simply aren't wired for scale, and I think it's important to understand. So here are some visuals I put together to help out.

Here's a 6' dude standing next to a stack of 620 $100 bills. That's $62,000—the estimated median income of an American in 2025.

Don’t extrapolate my words—a singular act of defiance is just that and isn’t worthy of deference:

People like this are so quick to advocate for violent revolution from their desk chair, yet so unaware that real change needs numbers—numbers that start to grow from singular actions like MTG’s.

By all means, please continue to call it the Department of War. I'm sure Americans of all political leaning will react positively to seeing trillion-dollar "War" line items on the budget.
