She has 10 years until retirement so she’d be fine. It’s those who are about to retire that’ll be devastated

Sparty, you know the saddest thing? I was in that square (the entire Beijing was in that square) when all that happened, and now, I saw video clips of same shit in the U.S.

Not sure if any precious metals can be short at this point, considering the latest developments in China. Xi eliminated all the high ranking military generals who had been vocally against using force against Taiwan. Official news from last night US time. People believe a war is imminent.

Worried about Gov shutdown or something
January 23, 2026 at 8:56 PM
Many software companies should go to zero, oddly SOUN still has a 4.4 market cap.
January 23, 2026 at 6:46 PM
Just a thought, not NVDA related. All legacy systems on gov/banking/ERP systems can now be rewritten, not many people know COBOL anymore. Ofc risks can be very high as well, this would be a billion $ effort.

Everyone who has been remotely related to Manus is now under intense scrutiny. There was big discussions among netizens following that. So basically, anyone aspiring to start an AI shop has to 1. have connections with gov or 2. bend their knees, so as to survive.

affordability is not a real issue imo. It’s the political environment and flip/flops of policies. Meta announced its acquisition of Manus in Dec, Manus used to be a Chinese co, they moved from China to Singapore. Several days later Chinese gov announced investigation into all entities related.

Trump is a God-sent to save China, that’s how I look at the current geopolitical crisis.
January 22, 2026 at 6:38 PM
That’s called being pragmatic.

Please bear in mind that China is facing tremendous demographic challenges. No one wants to have kids anymore. Chinese people have a tradition of saving a huge amount of their income. Family savings have sustained the very high youth unemployment rate. What’s next?

What’s their growth story?

Liquidity drain
January 22, 2026 at 4:01 AM
Oh, rollover way ahead of IPO? I thought it’ll be on IPO day or maybe a week later, so earlier investors can short the pop to lock in profits.

Safe for the next two weeks? Get ready for him again after 2nd market ATH

Agreed. Debasing SW giants isn’t a bad thing, it will save resources and improve productivity.

The first couple of jobs I had were to customize/maintain the warehouse software (basically none in existence in the canned software those companies purchased). I basically wrote 1 for each co.

We will all be on universal high income, like Elon said. It has to happen eventually. Peace ✌️

I have this question though, who’s going to maintain the code say in a year? Saw someone had the same comments on X that the software’s Youtube moment is happening.

Why is it taking so long to rule such a simple case?
January 19, 2026 at 1:04 AM
Didn’t Bessent say during an interview this morning that SCOTUS is unlikely to rule Trump tariffs unconstitutional?

Okay so Cerebras is now the cloud provider, just need companies migrate from say AMZN to them.

Amzn/Msft/Goog will all face challenges.
January 18, 2026 at 12:48 AM
Am I being naive to even ask this? 😂
January 18, 2026 at 12:28 AM
thanks for bringing up Cerebras, they expect to IPO in 2nd Q. I spent some time last night and this morning to read about it, very interesting technology. They don’t have too many customers rn, besides foundational model companies and those big supercomputer users, who else?
January 18, 2026 at 12:28 AM
Disable X, Facebook, instagram, that won’t hurt themselves. Netflix possibly, Google/Amzon have cloud service, turnoff Google android isn’t a good idea.

SAAS valuation was too high tbh, many SW will get replaced. I shorted ADBE last year.

One casualty is Gitlab, yes AI will reduce seats, but code generated will grow exponentially. DevOp demand should increase rather than decrease, imho.

All this semi build will come to an end eventually.
