In March 1998, he reduced the season pass price from $500 to $199, an experiment closely watched by the whole ski industry. The experiment was a stunning success. increasing sales nine-fold. Bogus was on its way to being the treasured local ski area it is today. Mike's innovations in pricing and accessibility were widely copied in the ski industry, earning him recognition as "The Father of Affordable Skiing."
