These are not times when the “same amount of care” applies. We have been threatened. We are watching the dismantling of democracy in the US and the post WW 2 world order. The only discussion around this issues is Resistance. And if you have quisling O’Leary on the show I am going to scream

We need to hear about the ways, beyond consumer boycotts (which are great) that every day people are creatively getting organized to keep safe democratic values and human rights that we hold dear

The new question will simply generate comments that we already know. A much more helpful topic for discussion for an international audience would be: Are you getting more involved in your union, or civil society? what actions and safeguards are you discussing to protect democratic principles?

Cancel the topic. It’s normalizing American expansionist moves. Instead ask us: how we can build a resistance to neo fascism. Or On what shared values do we build international solidarity? Or How do we rebuild democracy from the ground up. Your welcome.
