Halfway through today's slate of #NECMBB games. Congrats to New Haven for being the first NEC school to host a Big Ten team on its home floor. The result was not unexpected as they fell by 44 to the Nittany Lions. FDU trails Saint Peter's at the half. Mercyhurst is about to tip its home opener.

Halfway through today's slate of #NECMBB games. Congrats to New Haven for being the first NEC school to host a Big Ten team on its home floor. The result was not unexpected as they fell by 44 to the Nittany Lions. FDU trails Saint Peter's at the half. Mercyhurst is about to tip its home opener.
LIU WBB is back in action tonight as they are in Tampa to face a very good South Florida team. USF is currently ranked 56th at Bart Torvik. Torvik has LIU as a -30 point underdog. #LIUWBB

Last night was a fun night of #NECMBB. Two road wins from LIU and Mercyhurst + Le Moyne gave Xavier a tough game before falling to them. Chicago State held its own against Saint Louis before falling off in the second half. Disappointing loss for CCSU as Quinnipiac won convincingly.

Last night was a fun night of #NECMBB. Two road wins from LIU and Mercyhurst + Le Moyne gave Xavier a tough game before falling to them. Chicago State held its own against Saint Louis before falling off in the second half. Disappointing loss for CCSU as Quinnipiac won convincingly.
If LIU plans to win tonight, its defense, especially its 3-point defense, has to play way better than it did Monday night at Notre Dame. Two big keys for LIU tonight: rebounding & protecting the ball. IU Indy's press and them playing at home are going to make the first 8-10 mins important. #LIUMBB

ESPN analytics gives LIU just a 36% chance of winning, while KenPom gives LIU a 55% chance, & Torvik gives LIU a 68% chance of winning. So the metrics are a bit all over the place tonight. I look at tonight as more of a toss-up due to IU Indy's new style of play with their new HC. #LIUMBB

Tmrw, we have our first pair of interesting gms to watch w/ CCSU @ Quinnipiac, preseason NEC #2 vs preseason MAAC #1, & LIU @ a retooled IU Indy who, under new HC Ben Howlett, wants to run, gun, & press for 40 mins & clearly push the pace. I'm fascinated to see what results from both games. #NECMBB

After a jam-packed #NECMBB season opener on Monday in which all 10 teams were in action, today is the second straight day with no games. Not to worry. Beginning tomorrow, it will be the start of 13 straight days with at least one NEC team in action, including 6 games tomorrow.
