And maybe I'm missing something there. I try to avoid people in fandoms as much as possible - they're all so fucking bigoted and love to pretend otherwise.

But considering the MASSIVE racism problems in the MHS communities... Yeah, no, there's no fucking way anyone cares. They're happy about it.

The worst part is, my friends and I know we're going to be the only people who actually give a shit. We already know for a fact this is the case. I've only seen absolutely raving excitement for the new game. We're the only people I've seen actually say anything at all.

MHS3, based on the trailer, seems to predominantly, if not exclusively, depict their Riders as vaguely European white people.

The same kind of people that'd been subjugating them constantly for the first two games.

My hopes are nonexistent. We can't have anything, can we?

The indigeneity of Riders, and the way Riders have been interacted with by Hunters genuinely meant a lot to me, as a Native American. I might not be a part of the specific groups the games were portraying, but seeing, much less playing as, indigenous faces in fiction that aren't caricatures is rare.

The first two games were about indigenous people, and their struggles as individuals and as a culture the white(-coded) Hunters refused to understand. The second game especially had white supremacy as a major theme, and all of these things I felt were handled well. They were overt too. Loud. Mature.
