I share information about Okinawan fruits, agriculture, and wildlife.
I am a 51-year-old male residing in Okinawa, Japan with 28 years of experience as a tropical fruit enthusiast.
I occasionally appear on television and radio.
This illustration reads, “Happy New Year,” and “We kindly ask for your continued support this year as well.”

I posted a video titled “3-Dimensional making Soil using a Vibrating Drill” on YouTube.

I attempted to improve the physical properties of the soil in an orchard.

I used a vibrating drill to make holes in the soil and alternately filled them with fine charcoal and compost.

There is an evergreen tree in the legume family whose fruit, the ’Inocarpus fagifer’, is edible.

I've long wondered whether this species prefers shade or sunny conditions.
Therefore, I decided to plant two saplings in each environment and observe their growth.

Weed management is a crucial task in pineapple cultivation.

While herbicides and mowers are the most commonly used methods, another approach I tried that during hot periods involves laying plastic sheeting in the aisles to smother weeds.

We applied charcoal made from weeds around the base of the dragon fruit plants.

Charcoal has a lower specific gravity than red soil and is expected to adsorb fertilizer components, so we believe it will help improve the soil's physical and chemical properties.

Let's share important notes.

The aluminum handcart has a maximum load capacity of 100kg.
Although my students, transporting heavy soil caused the cart to tilt under the weight, resulting in a crack in the handle pipe.

After, I stenciled the cautionary note onto the cart body to prevent recurrence.

The nesting habits of the "Polistes formosanus".

They build chambers starting from the center, then expand outward by adding new chambers.
Eggs are laid once the chamber's position is determined, and the chamber is then extended vertically.

Let's cherish the familiar scenery around us.
