That variation changes nothing about the dichotomy.
The wikipedia article on sex has many, many more sources. There is no controversy, no more than there is about, say, climate change. Some people just parroting things they made up isn't part of any serious conversation.

The heart of most people does in fact not yearn for fascism, that's my (admittedly super generic) takeaway. Even of the people you dislike and disagree with on many things, even some of the people who THINK they want fascism (until they get it). Most of all, we're humans and want to live & let live.

No, we didn't do that "collectively" -- many or most Germans did that, if anything. Some people didn't, we still have some Nazis after all.

They don't do this TO be taken seriously, so not taking them seriously doesn't change anything. The want to be on the side of the barbed wire fence, and on the end of the gun, they're currently on. That's the real part, the rest is smoke and mirrors.
