... may I ask, do you intend to produce books outside the traditional route, as I think your post hints? and as someone just starting out on this road, I'd be interested to know what the last straw was for you!

I'm sorry to hear this. Love your books, especially Thomas Browne and Tide. I've been using the latter as a model for how I approach my own book - on a very different historical subject - and found my way here via your (I think abandoned) X account.
