Bonkers, isn't it

I often travel up to the north east and have the same problem.

Apparently the Government won't give permission for them to buy more trains .

It's an investment.

Children brought up in poverty are less likely to succeed educationally and all that follows from that and more likely to be ill, physically and mentally.

Allowing massive child poverty reduces future economic growth and increases long term costs for the NHS and other services.

Or a hospital, or an old people's home, or a building site, or a shop ...

What an utterly ridiculous attitude for someone to have.

Great band. Daw them at the Marillion weekend.

And it can lead to a lot of flak trying to change that!

Here in Oxfordshire we saw loud opposition to 20mph speed limits (RTCs already well down) for example.

Similar with LTNs.

Once measures are in, and working, most people are happy.

Yes, in this case, 0.8% does equate to 8 actual votes.

As for working today, between a small team they will have covered an 18 hour stint yesterday, so I'll them off having a late start today ;-)

I was very proud to march with him against the Iraq War.

Our party at its best.

Absolutely.

There are some people who are just opposed to building, but most of the opposition is because it doesn't meet local need, doesn't deliver the infrastructure to support it, doesn't take account of the environment and because local services are already under too much pressure.

It was great being a student during the indie dance era, at least the bits I remember :-D
