I do understand what you're saying, but at a time when Democrats had wind in their sails and the GOP were starting to show their own disarray, it just feels like the they let the air out of their own balloon. An uninspired, demoralized, and defeated electorate is the last thing the Democrats need.

Even if this is a strategic move, you have to be ready with that message, since so much of modern politics is messaging. The Democrats are so singularly bad at it.
