- I'd look at bypassing Casey and reviving the Dilnot adult care proposals; the care cost cap got most attention, but Dilnot also planned to substantially increase the number of people qualifying for council-funded care, which would increase the number of people "getting something" from the system

But that is not enough. No.10 should never have been in a position to install Gibb in the first place. It shouldn't control the board membership, the DG appointment, or the purse strings. What's required is genuine independence for the BBC.

Management at Nottingham have suspended courses in nursing (mental health & child) and health promotion. These courses have good student numbers… and possibly we need more health professionals being trained in UK…? #NHS #SaveOurNHS @uonucu.bsky.social

Progressive thought has been totally expunged from the British political mainstream, and *still* the argument is that there’s an unacceptable institutional bias to the left within the news media.
