Wasn't it 'faith' that caused the tragedy? Faith that a god was looking out for the children (he wasn't) Faith that the owners of the camp were responsible people who took their job seriously (they weren't).

I'm a New Zealander. And even I know that the US was designed from the ground up to be a secular state.

How does a Senator educated there not know this?

He had a duty to protect potential new victims and a duty to the justice system for past crimes. He decided to ignore these obligations and in my book that makes him an enabler of crime and someone who should spend some jail time.

Looks like the virgin Mary.....

A religion is defined as a shared set of beliefs. Given Christians do not share the same set of beliefs, differing wildly on whether Genesis is allegory or literal, why do we legally continue to treat it as a single entity? Why not legally emphasize the schism... and sow division?

Being able to get away with such crimes must be one of the attractions for joining such cults.

The green light for doing something with boobs ? Very confused. Euphemistic icons is not a helpful direction for appliances to take.....

Remind me again how many in Ukraine have died trying to repel an illegal foreign invasion?

Not a topic for humor.

To attempt a crime is still a crime. Why aren't all these hundreds of attempts by theists to break the law treated the same way?

And why is it that the police will attempt to stop me breaking the law (if they are made aware of it) but lift no finger in this case?

But not born in the US. So not qualified... again without a constitutional change.

I think these are unnecessarily alarmist concerns. Or put another way. My opinion of the US was already extremely low decades ago. I just think locals are finally catching on.

As I understand it POTUS is already immune for committing crimes if deemed in the national interest. Which already covered alot of ground.

He's going to be in his 80s. He's obese. He's not lasting this term. I should chillax iiwu!

SCOTUS is another matter.
February 24, 2025 at 9:16 PM
Scotus attempts to redefine 22nd amendment interpretation to include a Trump sized loop hole would not be in their interest. Their tenure is beyond that of Trump. Plus it would bring them into disrepute....favoring as it does the person who appointed the majority.
February 24, 2025 at 9:00 PM
He might try. But those jostling to take over from an 84yr old will not allow that. Plus constitutional change requires 2 3rds majority in both houses.
February 24, 2025 at 8:59 PM
He can't get elected a 3rd time. So why is this any longer the focus .... From either side actually....
February 24, 2025 at 7:31 PM
How brain washed do you have to be to think Rushdie is not a nice person for writing something...... while thinking yourself a good person for attempting to murder them....?

Only one reason a church wants to run a school. Long term revenue and the development of future parishioners. Like putting fox in charge of chicken coop.
February 18, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Joyful news. Of course the catholic church is a criminal enterprise..... and should be run out of town altogether. But any signs of crumbling cheer me up.
February 18, 2025 at 5:45 PM
Trump doesn't read. Letters are not the way I think.

Have you tried not letting him get elected in the first place? You did? Try harder.
February 18, 2025 at 5:43 PM
He can believe what he likes.... but is the decision based on his Vax status or not?

Id have thought organs are rare and sadly younger candidates will be prioritized
February 17, 2025 at 1:54 AM
If you want an even higher ratio of churches to population..... visit Rarotonga. Truly depressing.....
February 15, 2025 at 12:40 AM
Nothing divisive or supremacist about that..... is there?
February 13, 2025 at 2:22 AM
There are considerably fewer active Christians than there were 3 decades ago in the US.

As the cloak of numbers slips from their shoulders, will they become increasingly desperate? Is that what we're seeing here? Or is it their demise coincides with a president willing to pander to it?
February 12, 2025 at 7:22 PM
No. This is why you don't allow Trump to get elected in the first place.
