I was at that blistering show in Manchester. Listening to his spoken words supporting a set with such a strong message, I was never more proud to call myself a Bruce Springsteen fan.

I fully agree. I watched the first two episodes last night and the second two tonight. #Adolesence is extraordinary, maybe the best television I have ever seen. I was utterly ripped in two by the final scenes.

Next time on TOTP he played candelabra as the ‘sax’ and tore up a photo of John Travolta in front of camera (in Sinead O’Connor Pope photo style, years before that event, in fact I think he may have inspired Sinead in that respect). Good man, Bob.

Picked up a copy in Charlie Byrne’s myself this week. I remember reading some of these first time around in the pages of Hot Press. I like how they reproduce the covers of the editions the columns were taken from.

One of the great pleasures of playing a record is listening to it all through to the end. It’s how we used always listen to albums, from start to finish. Thankfully I still do.

Ange has to take responsibility. Players simply not performing for him. And who decided Romero and Van De Wen were ready to come back today? Both out again, probably for weeks. His record overall has been awful with far too many defeats.

‘These lads’ are bland and have no artistic merit. Chasing the dollar with live shows that are based entirely on gimmickry. They have no musical credibility whatsoever. And that’s being kind.
