Agreed. I threw myself at the Mantis Lords way too many times before I beat them. I kinda hope the Dark Souls-iness is a little less in the sequel.

In the end I won twice, which has to be regarded as some kind of divine miracle blessed by The Emperor himself. Thank god for reactive stratagems.
