Huckleberries! There are so many varieties of huckleberries. According to Pojar and MacKinnon (*Plants of Coastal British Columbia*, 2004), "huckleberry" is often used as a catchall term for plants of the Vaccinium family that aren't blue.

Forgot to add alt text to this one!
Mod update: Because of some unforeseen difficulties I had with making assets for Skyrim, I have chosen to switch to modding Stardew Valley!

It's a big shift, but I am excited, I already made a sprite! This is a berry-less silver berry bush, mahihkaniminânâhtik

Ok, new method? I installed the Bethesda Archive Extractor tool and NIFSkope. Both seem to be working, here is a model for lavender from the game files,

Taking a break from changing names to making nêhiyawêwin-masinahikana, Cree books! I'm toying with the idea of having some kind of lore for the people writing these books that'll explain how nêhiyawêwin just kind of "appears" in Skyrim and why they spend so much time studying it.

I couldn't find what race deer are actually placed in until I looked at all of the Elk files. it turns out that the mule deer don't actually have their own race but are simply the female-elk in the Creation Kit. I'm might need to make them a new race altogether...
February 22, 2025 at 12:01 AM
The Moose actor window has both ID and race fields set to "Elk," I'll change this to "môswa", moose.
February 22, 2025 at 12:01 AM
Omg, ok, here is the details for this reindeer in the Creation Kit. The body is that of a reindeer, but its ID and race are "Deer". I'll try and just rename the Deer ID/race "wâwâskêsiw", reindeer/elk.
February 22, 2025 at 12:01 AM
I guessed this day would come: this reindeer (wâwâskêsiw) is being labeled as a deer-deer (apisimôsos) and I don't know how to fix that, yet.
February 21, 2025 at 11:24 PM
Okay... I'm calling this a Mule Deer, apisimôsos? The antlers kinda look right, and the tail is small, but it's *all* brown.

Now i’m just having fun with it!

Thinking about maybe doing one mod where i just replace the names of things i can with cree names? Then another that’s a whole overhaul with irl plants?
February 11, 2025 at 2:24 AM
Testing the rough mod file with just a couple plants, âhâsiwimina (Juniper berries) and wâpikwaniy (flower, 'purple mountain flower' in game), and IT WORKS, LET'S GOOOOOO

It IS a feature! You just select the data you want from the file tab!
February 8, 2025 at 8:24 AM
Aaaaaand, DONE! after letting it repeat 110 times, I just had it print to a csv (comma-separated value) file, and had it do the same for the Creation Club files. Now all the info on extant items is readily available to help decide how the new plants I'll add will be introduced to the game
February 4, 2025 at 12:34 AM
Looking good for the blue-circle info, the scraper can now read the apothecary effects for one item! Now I just need it to repeat that 110 times for the first table
February 3, 2025 at 11:19 PM
In a nut-shell, the python code (main and get_name_id functions) is trying to find the bits of information in the circles (which are strings) using the info in the squares.

The blue circles are the bits of info I'll be tackling later!

I'm getting sleepy and sloppy now, but everything is working great so far. Here is the output of these functions, just the first object's name and its ID.
