I tried a similar thing with my folks a couple years after cutting contact, but I laid it out as the financial damage their upbringing did. It was kinda satisfying telling them that they owed me a ton of money for everything. They also never responded.

Floating at the edge of a cluster of nurse sharks, with a bunch of stingrays fluttering a couple feet beneath me. Watching the effortless way they all moved around each other and me. Savoring the moments with them, while simultaneously grieving that they had been conditioned to swim towards boats.

That is stunning! It was such a pretty show!
