That's chemistry." Chemistry, ugh. It's the most subjective thing ever but the industry places so much importance on it. Just because Sanya thinks Meg and I have chemistry, doesn't mean the next person will. Chemistry means different things to different people and depends on what they're like and what they like. Deep, huh? Well, I've had a whole week to think about chemistry. I didn't know I had so many thoughts on chemistry. I look Meg over. There's no sexual tension between us, no attraction. Probably because we grew up together. Our bickering must've resonated with Sanya because the protagonists in the play are technically enemies. But they end up falling in love. I'd never achieve that vibe with Meg, even if I was the world's best actor.

I want to say the week flies by, with anticipation and excitement buzzing in my veins. But that would be a lie. I'm kinda dreading my first date. After returning from Aaron's party to an empty flat—my family got back from Ryhan's at midnight, aargh—I video chatted with my friends. They were ecstatic about my date, but their questions and predictions about it sent panic rattling through my bones. The reality of going on a date-my first date with a guy, the perfect guy-struck me like a lightning bolt. I have no clue what to do on a date, one that has to be perfect and unforgettable. Sure, I've got a general idea of what to expect based on films and TV shows, but things in real life hardly pan out like they do in fiction. Ash from arrangementWIP isn’t the first LI that, um, *distracts* the FMC with a shirt😏 (is this a recurring theme?)
"You're staring." His words made her jump and she swallowed again. But she was still gawping at his half-naked body. Apparently, the words 'you're staring' didn't stop her staring. "What's wrong with you?" The irritation in his voice forced her to look up at his face. He was frowning. "I'm sorry, Your Highness, but I've never seen so much of another person's body. Without clothes on, I mean." Rolling his eyes, he held up his tunic and said, "Take it." Take it? Why was he giving her his tunic? Did he want her to wear it? Why? She was perfectly fine in her black robes. She wouldn't be able to accept his tunic even if she knew what she was supposed to do with it-her hands were full. He seemed to realise that at the same time as she thought it. Making an exasperated noise, he began rolling his tunic in on itself until it formed a band. She watched, confused. She even took a step back when he came forward with the strip of fabric raised to the level of her throat. Was he going to strangle her with it? She almost started asking what he was doing when she deciphered his intentions. He was wrapping the band around her neck, concealing the cut on her throat. It would also act like a dressing for the wound. "Thank you, Your Highness," she mumbled when he stepped back. "You will keep the cut hidden until it heals," he ordered. "If anyone asks, you will insinuate I'm responsible for whatever you're concealing." She creased her brow. "I don't understand-" "Do I have to spell it out for you?" He sucked in an annoyed breath. "I'd find it infuriating if I couldn't see that you're genuinely clueless." He rolled his eyes.

Shaking his head, he mumbles, "I'll turn the heating up." He comes to the thermostat near where I'm standing. With his back to me, he turns the dial before taking his T-shirt off. I'd ask why he's removed his shirt if I wasn't too busy admiring his back and shoulder blades. He twists around and holds the shirt up for me. Now, the sight of his abs and the hollow beneath his throat distracts me. Even if I knew what he wanted me to do with his shirt, I wouldn't be able to move. It's almost too much that he has an amazing body to go with his beautiful face. "Here, put this on and stand near the radiator." His voice snaps me out of my trance and I blink at him. He draws in an exasperated breath and dresses me in his T-shirt. To warm me up as the heating kicks in. If he was in a jumper, I guess he would have taken that off for me. Which is really sweet. Then, he retreats to his room. I don't hear from him until after 2pm, when I'm curled up in bed, sniffling. "Zak, look. I'm in grain-free heaven." The buffet is amazing, with so many different items. I giggle when I see Zak's plate several minutes later. Pancakes, fried eggs, and a banana. "Typical Brit abroad," I tease him as we sit at a table for two. "Eating what you usually eat at home. I hope you won't have pizza for lunch and burgers for dinner. I'm planning to try as many Turkish dishes as I can." "Is that baklava?" He looks elated by the opportunity to tease me about something on my plate. "Since when was baklava grain-free and sugar-free?" I giggle. "It's baklava! You can't bring me to Turkey and not expect me to try a piece of baklava." Chuckling, he digs into his pancakes. I take my time with my three varieties of olives, soft cheeses, and the yogurt I've topped with a ladle of fruit salad. Everything's so yummy! I'm stuffed by the time I try my one-off syrupy treat. A most unladylike sound leaves my mouth as I crunch through the flaky pastry. It's so good. Not too sweet, either. Surprised that Zak hasn't teased me yet, I flick my gaze to his face. He's watching me, a serious expression on his face.
