Following 3 day trial last week, the Oregon District Court has granted a preliminary injunction against the federalization and deployment of national guard in Portland. The judge stayed the federalization part to maintain status quo until she can issue her final ruling (on a permanent inj.) Friday.
Screenshot of decision, it says "Accordingly, for the reasons stated below, this Court determines based on the trial testimony, and the exhbits it has reviewed so far, that Plaintiffs are entitled to preliminary injunction on their claims that Defendants' federalization and deployment of the National Guard to Oregon violates 10 U.S.C. s. 12406 and the Tenth Amendment. This Court therefore preliminarily enjoins Defendant Secretary of Defense Hegseth from implementing [lists out dates and names of memos]; and any memoranda deploying members of any other State's National Guard to Oregon based on teh same predicate conditions that were relied upon to authorite the above orders. This Court will issue its final opinion on the merits by this Friday, November 7, 2025, no later than 5 p.m. PT.

Late September may be my favorite time in the garden. Roses come back strong when the cooler weather hits and they look so nice with the asters, mums, and rudbeckia. 🌱

Week. Over. UGH. It's been a bad one - but we made it to Friday. Here's a rose in my PNW zone 9a garden that is absolutely thrilled the temperatures have cooled off, finally. Have a good weekend! 🌱
Glowing pink rose blooms, two in different stages of opening, and one still closed. Variety is 'Sexy Rexy' - she doesn't have much scent, but sure is pretty. Sexy, if you will!
