I can only watch them spiral, while hoping that they don't fall into the darkest lows of their life. They've already been to some seriously dark places, and I worry they may reach a threshold soon. I've no desire for them to continue to be miserable.

to assuage their concerns, bc in the end I know it's only hollow. I've no money to alleviate their burdens, and in the first place, they seem greatly distressed/bothered by the idea of being a burden in the first place. There's not anything I can do for them. I don't know how to help them.

I just know them from being mutuals for a few years and seeing them talk about themselves and their life. Theirs is already a hard one, and recently they've been beset by one misfortune after another. And I worry for them, but I know I cannot help them. I don't know what to say to them-

It's not even like it's not a justifiable breakdown. I just wish that the rest of us didn't have to get caught in the crossfire. The situation that instigated this mess keeps getting worse, too (site mods being shitty), so idek if they'll ever calm tf down...
