Had a lovely old time riding my GSX-R750 around Spa yesterday. This is Blanchimont: knee down in 5th at 159mph. Pukka race bikes go through even faster. Heaven on earth.

Nice to see the return of the Suzuki GSX-R1000 today. My old K5 was textbook noughties Gixer: white undertray, rear LEDs, small numberplate, full Yoshi system with Tri-Oval can, R&G crash mushrooms and Metzeler Racetecs. Either wheelying or knee down. Happy days.

Nice to see Ducati celebrating my fourth place in the BMRC Supersport 600 Race 2 at Lydden on 26th September 1992, with their special Mugello paintjob at the weekend.

Snett ‘89. First ever race. First of many trips to Rod Harwin Racing for new tyres after a puncture in practice. Random grid spot chosen from a numbered peg in a bag. No tyre warmers. Dead engine race start. Road RGV250 with rattle can paint job. Thought I was fast. Got lapped. Addiction underway.

First test of 2025 underway. New Kove 125R has a single-sided swingarm, underslung exhaust, colour dash, radial brakes and just about tops 70mph (downhill). It doesn't feel remotely cheap, but costs just £3499. Full test in MCN next week.

We’re riding Honda’s new CB1000 Hornet SP at its launch in Spain this weekend. It has a retuned (155bhp) '17 Blade motor, Öhlins shock, Brembos and a raft of electronics. It costs £9999 and the base model is £8999, but is it any good? Check out Wednesday's @MCNnews to find out.

We’re riding Kawasaki’s new Ninja 1100SX SE at its world launch today and first time there's a high-spec SE version with an Ohlins rear shock, Brembo calipers and heated grips. The old Ninja 1000SX was a cracker, so hopefully the 1100 is more of the same with extra oomph. It's going to be a good day
